In the financial year 2022, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) manufacturing GVA accounted for over ** percent share of all of India's manufacturing gross value added. This was a slight increase from the previous financial year but the share has remained consistent over the four years. The government has introduced various schemes to boost the MSME sector, such as Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), and Micro and Small Enterprises-Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP), to name a few.
