As of December 31, 2022, there were qualified net-metering end-users in the Philippines. The highest share of which was in the Luzon grid at end-users.
Net-metering is a scheme implemented as part of the Renewable Energy Law of 2008 that allows homeowners and commercial establishments to install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels up to 100 kilowatts to satisfy their electricity needs. All excess electricity produced can be sold to the grid or to a utility company.
