In 2022, about *** million TEUs of loaded containers were processed at ports in the Black Sea region. While in 2021, Ukraine handled the largest volume of loaded containers compared to the other countries in the Black Sea region, this volume decreased dramatically in 2022. This drop was caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and the subsequent war on Ukrainian territory.
