The survey population included all Israeli citizens aged 45 and above, who met at least one of the following criteria: a record of a permanent dementia diagnosis code, or at least two separate dementia diagnoses recorded by a specialist physician, or the purchase of dementia medications.

According to the survey conducted by the Ministry of Health in Israel, among dementia patients who received a drug treatment, ** percent were treated at least once with an Acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. Among this drug category, Donepezil was the most commonly prescribed, at almost ** percent of treated patients. On the other hand, in more advanced cases, Memantine was prescribed to over ** percent of patients.
