institutions including the ILO, Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), the
World Bank, World Economic Forum (WEF), Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), PwC and
McKinsey & Company, the updated MIWE ranks and scores each economy
according to its performance over the past year, particularly since the onset of
the coronavirus crisis. Aggregating these scores, the index provides an overall
assessment of how women are faring in the business, financial, education, and
workplace settings compared to their male counterparts at the national level
as well as their peers on a global level."
The Women's Advancement Outcomes subindex of the Mastercard index of Women Entrepreneurship measures four indicators on the promotion of women and level of discrimination they face as leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and participants of the labor force.

In 2021, the Philippines was given the highest score in terms of female entrepreneurs' advancement outcomes in the world with an index score of ****. Colombia and Bulgaria followed behind. Bottom of the ** countries included in the ranking was Egypt with a score of only ****, with Bangladesh and India close behind. The advancement outcomes sub-index of the Mastercard Index of Women Entrepreneurs (MIWE) rates female entrepreneurs' advancement based on four components: Business leaders, professionals and technical workers, entrepreneurial activity, and labor force participation.
