In 2022, parents who identified as Democrats were more likely than Republicans to believe that public school teachers should not be allowed to lead students in any type of prayers in the United States, with ** percent of surveyed Democratic parents sharing this belief. In contrast, ** percent of parents who identified as Republicans said that teachers should be allowed to lead students in Christian prayers even if prayers from other religions are not offered.
