A Gen Z perspective

As members of Gen Z continue to age into adulthood, their concerns reflect both economic pressures and the broader political and social environment in which they have grown up. The generation has come of age during a period marked by significant social and political tensions, including the COVID-19 pandemic, race-related protests over police brutality, and debates surrounding abortion policy in several U.S. states. As a result, issues such as civic rights, reproductive rights, and the protection of vulnerable populations are also reflected among the concerns highlighted by Gen Z respondents.

Generational differences

Differing from older generations in the U.S., Gen Z were least likely to identify as Republican, to trust in the government, and to say that they are proud to live in the United States, compared to Baby Boomers. Gen Z were found to be more likely to identify as part of the LGBTQ community.
