The data includes travel and passenger transport expenditure.
In 2021, the outbound tourism expenditure from Egypt amounted to about 3.3 billion U.S. dollars. The value was higher compared to the previous year, when Egyptian residents traveling abroad spent some 2.6 billion U.S. dollars. Over the observed period, the outbound tourism expenditure fluctuated, peaking in 2016 at 4.35 billion U.S. dollars.
In contrast, the expenditure of tourists visiting Egypt reached 9.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2021.
