An October 2022 survey explored public opinion on the willingness of international sporting institutions to work with undemocratic governments. During the survey, around 42 percent of respondents from Germany believed that sporting institutions were much too willing to work with undemocratic governments. However, this figure dropped to 17 percent among respondents in the United States.
