In France, the feeling that sentences and convictions for drug use are too lenient increases quite significantly with age. In April 2021, ** percent of people aged over 65 considered that these sentences and convictions were not severe enough, while this proportion dropped to ** percent among adults under 25. Moreover, nearly **** of the latter were convinced that they were too severe, which is twice as many as the general French population.
