For the winter sport sector, a fiscal year runs from May 1 to April 30; for example, fiscal year 2016/17 starts on May 1, 2016 and ends on April 30, 2017.
In the fiscal year of 2024/25, China had million skiers, whereas only million people skied in the fiscal year of 2014/15. Although skiing became increasingly popular between 2014/15 and 2018/19, the number of skiers declined substantially in 2019/20, due to the coronavirus outbreak.
