In 2021, the services sector represented over 74 percent of the establishments covered by the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) in Ghana. In absolute values, this added up to around 56,000 businesses. The construction and commerce sectors accounted for some eight percent and 7.8 percent of the SSNIT coverage, respectively. SSNIT is a statutory public trust responsible for the basic national social security scheme in Ghana.
