In 2024, the Chinese Center for Drug Evaluation of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) approved Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) evaluation applications that were subjected to technical reviews. TCM products developed according to traditional literature or prescriptions can be approved without going through technical reviews in China. Instead, these products can be approved via the direct administrative approval channel.
