In June 2025, 25 percent of polled adults in the United States were in favor of overturning the United States Supreme Court case that protects an individual's right to marry a member of the same sex. The case is known as Obergefell v. Hodges and was decided by the court in 2015.
In 2025, the Supreme Court was formally asked to overturn their decision, marking the first time since 2015 that the case may be reconsidered.
