Between 2015 and 2022, the share of births by cesarean delivery in Italy decreased by about percent. This drop, however, was not uniformly distributed over the Italian territory. This statistic highlights regional differences in the variation of the share of cesarean deliveries between 2015 and 2022. Aosta Valley and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano were the only two regions recording an increase in the use of this practice. Conversely, Campania was the region with the largest decrease in the share of cesarean deliveries over this period. However, this was also the territory where this delivery practice was the most common in 2022.
