As of 2021, nearly ** percent of households in Ghana disposed of their wastewater by throwing it onto the ground, on the street, or outside their homes. Also, around ** percent of households threw wastewater into drains and gutters, while roughly ** percent drained wastewater into pits. Overall, very few households in the country used the sewerage system to dispose of wastewater.
