Based on a survey carried out in May 2021, more than ** percent of the adult German population contributed to crowdfunding projects in 2021. This is slightly more than in 2020, when roughly ** percent of the respondents made contributions to crowdfunding projects. In the obeserved period, there was a gradual yearly increase in the number of people who made financial commitments to crowdfunding projects. Compared to 2015, the number of people who participated in crowdfunding projects in Germany in 2021 more than doubled.
