As of February 2026, European Union institutions, such as the European Commission and the EU Council, have provided over 84.4billion euros in bilateral financial, humanitarian, and military aid to Ukraine, following the Russian invasion that started in February 2022. The highest value of allocations was recorded from the United States at almost 115.4 billion euros.

Pause in U.S. aid since 2025

Although the United States has provided Ukraine with the most bilateral aid overall, this aid was halted at the start of Trump's second term as U.S. president. Aid from Europe did, however, make up for this shortfall, with bilateral aid at comparable levels throughout 2025. Throughout 2025, aid from Europe amounted to approximately 72.8 billion euros, compared with combined U.S. and European aid of 90.2 billion in 2024.

Military aid to Ukraine

Since the start of the invasion, Ukraine has received considerable military aid from Western countries. In the early stages of the conflict, advanced artillery systems like HIMARS helped even the odds on the frontlines, with equipment gradually scaling up to include infantry fighting vehicles and main battle tanks. As of 2026, Ukraine is still looking to acquire more advanced air-defense systems capable of intercepting a higher proportion of ballistic missiles.
