Opinion on having sons or daughters India 2020, by religion
According to a survey carried out in 2020 in India, 95 percent of Muslims felt that having at least one son in the family was more important than having at least one daughter. However, among the Jain communities, 93 percent of respondents felt that having at least one daughter in the family was more important than having a son.
