In 2022, Chile was the Latin American country that had the largest share of electricity produced from solar sources, at some **** percent of its power mix. El Salvador ranked a close second, with solar accounting for roughly **** percent of electricity generation that year. Nevertheless, solar power contributed to less than **** percent of the electricity mix of many Latin American and Caribbean countries that year.
