In 2022, people aged 25 to 44 years was the age group that received the highest number of Swedish citizenships. Within this age group, over * people acquired a Swedish citizenship, followed by people between 45 and 64 years of age. On the other hand, people aged over ** was the age group receiving the fewest citizenships that year. Overall in the past decade, the total number of Swedish citizenship acquisitions per year increased. In order to apply for a Swedish citizenship, several requirements must be met. The requirements include being 18 years or older, being able to prove your identity, and residing in Sweden.
