The most important reason for companies to adopt micro-segmentation in 2021 was that it enhanced security for remote work setups. At the same time, 66 percent of respondents stated that micro-segmentation increased their company's threat detection and response.
Micro-segmentation is a method to logically create network segments and completely control traffic within and between the segments. Specifically, it controls workloads in data centers, as well as in multi-cloud environments, while also restricting the spread of lateral threats in the data centers.
