There were approximately 103,040 prisoners released from local penitentiary center in Mexico in 2021. As to federal centers, around 3,820 people were released. Values are an increase and decrease from the number reported in the previous year, 18 percent and 36 percent, respectively. In both 2020 and 2021, jail admissions exceeded the number of inmates released.
