The share of hospitality and accommodation services in GVA followed an increasing trend in Hungary until 2019. However, in 2020, the restrictions introduced because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak had a negative effect on the hospitality and accommodation industry, leading to a decrease in the contribution to GVA. By 2023, figures reached pre-pandemic levels, peaking at *** percent.
