The European questionnaire on Information and Communication Technologies Data reveals that there exists a disparity between the internet usage of people from different age groups. This disparity although present in most countries, differs widely in its severity.
In 2020, 90 percent of users in Turkey between 16 and 24 years uploaded self-created content, like videos, photos, music, or texts. Users between the age of 25 and 34 were two percent more likely to upload self-created content. 82 percent of people between 35 and 44 did so in 2020. The share of people between 45 and 54 were even lower with only 72 percent. The lowest share of users to use the internet in this manner can be found among 55 and 64-year old’s among which only 47 percent shared their own content online.
