Respondents were asked how important they regarded newspapers as "a means to gain information (source of information)." There were five possible answers: "Very important," "Important to a certain degree," "Neither," "Not really important," "Absolutely not important." The values shown in this statistic represent the combined share of respondents who answered either "Very important" or "Important to a certain degree."
Sample size of age groups: 13 to 19 years: n=140 20 to 29 years: n=218 30 to 39 years: n=237 40 to 49 years: n=306 50 to 59 years: n=330 60 to 69 years: n=271 70 to 79 years: n=298
