The Indices of Tertiary Industry Activity are compiled by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) every month. The purpose of these indices is to measure the trends of business for all service industry segments. Using the Laspeyres formula, the indices represent the weighted averages of value added by the segments.
