Nord Stream was Russia's natural gas export pipeline with the highest annual capacity among operational pipelines, at ** billion cubic meters as of 2024. Its twin pipeline, Nord Stream 2, whose certification was suspended by Germany after Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, had the same capacity; however, it was damaged during explosions in September 2022. Power of Siberia, which transported gas from Russia to China, had a capacity of ** billion cubic meters per year.
