The eSports market has boomed in recent years with more and more viewers tuning in to watch their favorite games being played by some of the best gamers in the world. Players can compete against each other, individually or in teams, in multiplayer video game tournaments across the world, which are often played out in front of a live audience. During a global survey in September 2020, the most common reason given for why some eSports fans did not want attend eSports events was the distance or transportation, with over ** percent giving this reason. This was followed by around ** percent of respondents citing affordability as the reason they did not attend eSports events that year.
