In 2011, respectively **** percent and **** percent of the total population in India belonged to Schedule Casts and Schedule Tribe. In general, Scheduled Casts accounted for a larger share of disabled population compared to Schedule Tribes. Within each social group, the proportion of male disabled persons was higher than that of female disabled population.
