The 84 firms surveyed can be divided into 38 international firms operating in Mauritius and Africa, and 46 national enterprises operating only in Mauritian markets ( no exports).
Company size coverage:
Micro (1-10): 25 (11 international and 14 national)
Small (11-50): 27 (9 international and 18 national)
Medium (51-250): 19 (8 international and 11 national)
Large (>250): 13 (10 international and 3 national).

Companies' liquidity requests during COVID-19 in Mauritius 2020, by institution
In an online survey carried out between April 14 and 20, 2020, ** percent of national businesses that took part in the study reached out to commercial banks for liquidity, while ** percent sought state or public sector loans. Moreover, ** percent of the international firms requested support from commercial banks for liquidity. International businesses also sought support through international financial institutions, crowdfunding, and credit or savings unions/cooperatives.
