In 2020, companies in Africa requested funding for the purpose of factoring or debt recovery in the face of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In a survey, it was reported that ** percent of medium-size enterprises sought debt and factoring solutions from financial institutions, while only percent of large businesses requested funding for the same purpose. Overall, commercial banks were the main source of funding across companies operating in the continent in the said year.
