The employment rate refers to the percentage of people who are employed among the total population aged 15 years and older.
Employed people refer to those who worked for pay or profit or worked as unpaid family workers for at least one hour during the reference week and who were with jobs but not at work during the reference week.
In 2025, around ****Â percent of the male population aged 15 years and older in Japan were employed, while ****Â percent of the female population were in employment. The female employment rate reached a record high.
