In Morocco, international funds in support of clean and renewable energy in the country amounted to * million U.S. dollars in 2018, adjusted for purchasing power parity (PPP). The inflow of external funds for this cause fluctuated over the period examined, peaking, however, in 2014 at approximately *** billion PPP U.S. dollars. On the other hand, the lowest value received by Morocco was reached in 2013, at nearly * PPP U.S. dollars. Furthermore, a very high percentage of the country's population had access to clean cooking fuels and cooking technology in 2019. This is perhaps not surprising considering the visible large financial inflows for clean energy.
Overall, a report has revealed that over *** people in developing countries rely on coal and traditional biomass to meet their cooking energy needs. Heavy reliance on these, however, often result in exposure to indoor air pollution, which leads to premature deaths.
