Share of people uploading self-created content in Ireland 2020, by age
The European questionnaire on Information and Communication Technologies Data reveals that there exists a disparity between the internet usage of people from different age groups. This disparity although present in most countries, differs widely in its severity.
In 2020, 54 percent of users in Ireland between 25 and 34 years uploaded self-created content, like videos, photos, music, or texts. Only 42 percent of people between 35 and 41 did so in 2020. The share of people between 45 and 54 were even lower with only 35 percent. The lowest share of users to use the internet in this manner can be found among 55 and 64-year old’s among which 29 percent shared their own content online.
