The limited availability of services or the related costs are problems that confront migrants in many countries on migration routes, in particular young people and children. In a survey conducted in Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, and Egypt between 2019 and 2020, ** percent of migrants declared to have wanted to attend a school but were unable to. Similarly, legal assistance and support from social workers were not available for ** percent of young migrants. According to the source, some of the main barriers in accessing such services were lack of availability, costs, lack of information, mistrust, or stigma.
