During a survey fielded in Brazil in July and August 2020, almost three out of four (** percent of) respondents who did not receive emergency aid during the COVID-19 outbreak said their request for an allowance was either denied or still under analysis. About ** percent of participants stated that they could not use the mobile app of Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF), the state-owned bank responsible for distributing the benefit. In the previous year, Caixa was the Brazilian bank with the largest real estate loan portfolio.
