The Source states the following "The KASI Consumer Confidence Index (KASI CCI) is based on monthly surveys of urban dwellers from the largest economies of Africa."

7 countries are included in the index: Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania.

The index is between +100 and -100, based on 4 different categories and 7 questions:
Economic Expectations:
Q1 - How do you expect general economic conditions in your country to change over the next 6 months?
Q2 - How do you expect general economic conditions in your city to change over the next 6 months?

Personal Finance:
Q3 - How do you expect your (households) income to change over the next 6 months?
Q4 - Will you be able to meet your regular expenses over the next 6 months?

Consumer Spending:
Q5 - Is this a good time for people to make a large purchase such as furniture or electrical appliances, given the economic climate?
Q6 - Compared to the last 6 months, do you expect to spend more, the same or less money on large purchases (furniture, electrical appliances) over the next 6 months?

Job Prospects:
Q7 - Has it become more difficult or easier to find a job in your city?

The score is calculated based on:
Each category score= % of positive answers - % of negative answers
Total score= Sum (Each category score)
