The survey group comprised 257 buy-side investors and sell-side analysts at large companies that trade securities on behalf of their investors. 47 percent of respondents came from the U.S., 18 percent were from the U.K. Canada accounted for 10 percent, Germany made up seven percent and 17 percent came from other locations.

As of 2023, ** percent of the institutional investors surveyed stated that their main motivation for turning to non-traditional media sources was to access news faster than from other media sources. Keeping up to date with a specific company they follow was the second-highest motivation, noted by ** percent of respondents.
