In 2021, a primary reason for adopting Kubernetes was to program areas that need to mature/evolve. Kubernetes is an open-source platform for managing containerized workloads. Containers have isolated properties which means they have their own share of CPU, memory, process space, and filesystem. This makes it possible to decouple containers from the underlying infrasturcture. They are therefore considered lightweight.
