Among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, the largest share of teacher absenteeism that was reported as a serious problem by grade 4 student principles was in Oman at about ** percent in 2015. The gender learning gap and teacher absenteeism and tardiness were two main issues in the education system in the region.
