Financial institutions that firms perceive as their "main bank" were extracted from the database. In case a company reported more than one main bank, the bank that each company perceived as its top was selected.
Values may not add up to 100 percent due to rounding by the source.

As of October 2021, around **** percent of surveyed companies in Japan identified city banks as their main bank. Broken down by region, more than ** percent of companies in the Kanto and Kinki region perceived city banks as their main banks. At the same time, regional banks were identified as main banks by a majority of companies in most of the other regions.
