In the fiscal year 2022, the volume of renewable electricity purchases in Japan reached about billion kilowatt hours. Figures increased continuously since fiscal 2013 when the purchase volume stood at around **** billion kilowatt hours. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the Japanese government is currently working on increasing the share of renewable energy sources in electricity generation.
