The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic had a significant impact on the spa and wellness industry, as establishments were either forced to close, or to implement strict hygiene standards and regulations for their employees and guests. During a March 2020 survey among spa industry professionals worldwide, ** percent stated that they had to temporarily close their spa, while ** percent were forced to lay of employees as a result of the pandemic.
