The SDAX grew by around index points between March 2020 and March 2022. The index fluctuated significantly after that, and stood at **** as of February 2025. The current value of the SDAX is above its pre-coronavirus peak of around * points recorded in December 2019.
The SDAX was established in 1999, and consists of the German companies ranked **** to in terms of market capitalization. In effect, this means that it is comprised of the ** largest German companies after those included in the DAX index and MDAX index.
