The 2011 increase in EBIT may be due to the incorporation of Hochtief Group. The data for 2013 has been restated as a result of the entry into force of the IFRS 10, 11 and 12 new standards. Restated following the application of NIIF 16 (Operating Leases) from January 2019 to make it comparable to other figures. Since 2020, these figures do not include the industrial services segment, which is classified in the report as a discontinued operation.
In 2022, the backlog of orders of ACS Group were valued at ** billion euros. The backlog of the Spanish construction firm has fluctuated in the past years. That could be partly explained due to the changes in the accounting methods used to calculate these figures which may reduce the comparability of the data. A backlog of orders represents the friction of new orders and completed shipments. If it is too low, that shows that the company is receiving too few orders. When it is too high, the firm may have difficulties fulfilling its existing obligations quickly.
