According to a survey conducted from September to October 2020, about **** of female respondents in Japan answered that they had experienced playing a puzzle game via smartphone. While puzzle games were by far the most commonly experienced smartphone game genre among both genders, the share of respondents who had played a game of this genre was considerably lower among men.
