In the fiscal year 2020, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in Japan planned to utilize around *** billion Japanese yen for the promotion of the GIGA school concept. GIGA stands for "global and innovation gateway for all" and the government aims to improve the digital infrastructure at schools and households through the project to realize equal learning opportunities for all children in the country.
