In 2022, more than *** thousand Indian seafarers were employed on domestic or foreign vessels. It was a huge increase in comparison with 2020. During the presented period, a general increase can be observed, some of the reasons attributed for this increase were improved maritime training standards, increased on-board training opportunity, and improved examination as well as certification system.
