In August 2020, the monthly average price for solid bricks in Egypt was 650 Egyptian pounds (41.33 U.S. dollars) per thousand bricks. Thousand hollow bricks sized 25x12x6 centimeters cost 850 Egyptian pounds (54.05 U.S. dollars), while prices for hollow bricks sized 40x20x12 centimeters were at 1,350 Egyptian pounds (85.84 U.S. dollars) per thousand bricks. The prices for all brick types followed a similar increasing trend, with the larger hollow brick being the most expensive, while the solid brick was the cheapest. Mean prices of all bricks increased in July 2019 and January 2020.
